Tips and Tricks to help Complete Scholarship Applications and Essays
Award
Scholarships of up to $6,000 will be awarded to applicants seeking an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing. Scholarships up to $6,000 will be awarded to nurse applicants seeking an advanced nursing degree (MSN or DNP/PhD).
A committee at Edcor will select candidates.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all the following criteria to be eligible for the this scholarship:
- You must be an Ascension Texas (full-time or part-time) Associate or an Ascension MOSTL associate, working full-time or part-time at an Ascension Texas facility.
- FT and PT associates must have been hired on or before March 31, 2025, and have had at least one annual performance evaluation.
- PRN employees are not eligible to apply.
- Students must be enrolled in an accredited Nursing program for the Fall 2026 semester.
(Note: If you are currently finishing your nursing prerequisite courses you are NOT eligible for this scholarship program.) - A completed application and two letters of recommendation must be submitted by the deadline to be considered. One letter of recommendation MUST be from your current supervisor. Selected recipients will also be required to submit their registration for the Fall 2026 semester into an accredited program by July 15, 2026, to receive a scholarship award.

When completing the Specialty Service Line question, please select a primary option in the initial dropdown. There are three additional dropdowns that you may choose, if applicable to your Specialty Service Line. Please select as many Specialty Service Lines as you qualify for. (Choose a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 4.)
Due Dates
- Application website opens: May 4, 2026
- Application and ALL tasks due: June 5, 2026
- Award Decisions Announced: Week of July 13, 2026
- Award Acceptance Period: July 13, 2026 – July 24, 2026
- Payments made: August 15, 2026

- Scholarship Application
- Recommendations should be requested from the system, and they are sent via the application portal.
Pro tip: Request the recommendation first and then complete all other tasks. Let your recommender know that they will have to Register or Login to the portal to provide the recommendation on or before June 5, 2026. - Proof of GPA. Your most recent school transcript
- Proof of enrollment to the college/university being attended/enrolling
