Tips and Tricks to help you complete a Scholarship Application
Program Overview
The Paychex Scholarship Program is for eligible children of Paychex employees. The program is administered by a third party, a non-profit agency called Edcor, and sponsored by Paychex.
Important Program Information
Please note that applications should be created and completed by the dependent* /applicant and not by the Paychex employee. Applicants should provide a valid email address to receive frequent program updates/communications from Edcor.
Online recommendations should be requested as early as possible to ensure enough time for them to be submitted by the March 30th, 2025 deadline. To submit the completed application by March 31st, 2025, please ensure that all the tasks are marked as complete. This is when the system will allow you to submit the application. Before starting the application, both the Paychex parent and the dependent should read the program FAQs.
*Dependents are defined as the son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter, legally adopted child, or legal ward supported solely by the guardian.
Eligibility
The Paychex employee must have a minimum of one year of employment as of the online E-application deadline date.
The Paychex employee must be an active employee at the time the scholarship is awarded, including the annual distribution of awards
The scholarship is for undergraduate study only. Applicants must be children* age 25 and under and a high school senior or graduate who plans to enroll or who is already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or school for the entire academic year.
The applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
Scholarships will be limited to one per family. For example, an employee’s son wins in 2020 and is eligible for renewal for up to 3 years. The employee’s daughter will be graduating high school in 2024 but they would not be eligible to apply.
Dependents of a Paychex Director, Sr. Director, or Executive are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Applicants must demonstrate involvement within the school and community.
Applicants must have/be graduating from High School by June 2025.Applicants must show proof of enrollment from the college or university they intend to enroll at in Fall 2025.Applicants must submit ALL completed materials by the deadline (March 31, 2025).
Awards
One renewable scholarship of up to $1,500 per year will be awarded to 12 selected candidates by a committee at Edcor. Renewals can receive an additional $1,500 per year for three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree, whichever occurs first provided they fulfill all requirements.
Students must complete and submit a renewal form within established guidelines. Guidelines include recipients meeting renewal request deadline dates, maintaining satisfactory academic performance in a full-time undergraduate program, and continued employment by Paychex of the recipient's parent.
Renewal students will be eligible to receive the full award if they are graduating in December.
